Please be advised that I have decided to retire
from AAU Basketball and that I am discontinuing the GV Fillies Travel Basketball Club.
This decision comes after many gut -wrenching days,
weeks, and months of deliberation. I would like to thank all those who have coached,
directed, played and parented over the past 20 years in the Fillies Basketball Program. I have
met and made thousands of friends over the
past 20 years. The memories of the wonderful experiences that I have had with the players that
I have coached will be everlasting.
From the very first AAU game, the rural Sunday League
run by Mary Record, the weekend games with the Livonia Lightning and Everett Babcock's South
Seneca pizza games to the Lakers and Warriors tournaments. Tournaments in Philadelphia, Atlanta,
Virginia Beach, Cleveland, Penn State, Lake Placid, Hersey, Oneonta, Fredonia, Niagara Falls,
Syracuse, Lewiston-Maine, Canada - Hamilton, Kingston Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal,
The National Invitation of Champions - Wide World of Sports @ Disney and who could
ever forget The Junior Olympics - Virginia Beach ! Dick Ruschak your one of the best !
Lastly, the best times were the 17 Genesee Valley
Classic Tournaments that we held at SUNY Geneseo ! What a great group of players, parents, and
officials that I had to work with. 17 years, 100 teams, 1200 players, 3400 games and not one glitch.
My family: Betsy, Sarah, Erin, Regan, Melodee, Tammie,
and Tommie - you are the best of the best !
Lastly, THANK YOU to all of you that have made my
20 years with the GV FILLIES one of the best life experiences that person could ever have -
It's been an awesome journey !
